Daddy's Little Ladybug

This post really needs no explaination...it's priceless!!

Happy Halloween!

Since this was Karly's "real" first year of trick-or-treating, we started preparing a little early. I think she started practicing saying tick-or-treat everywhere we would go about 2 weeks before the holiday even got here and only wanted to wear her costume everyday for about the last month...
The day started by carving a pumpkin with Mommy and Grandma. Karly was so fun about getting her hands dirty and Grandma ended up doing most of the work. And I'm telling ya, I had the idea of carving a kitty pumpkin (with no template) and I just might be in the wrong profession cause it turned out GREAT!!
After we were finished with the pumpkin, I told her that if she would lay down to nap, we could put on our costumes and go trick-or-treating. Not sure if that aided in the only 45 minutes of rest, but when she woke up, she was ready to go! With it being so cold we decided to take the girls up to the clubhouse first and then hit only 3 or 4 neighbors houses on the way home.
Karly was dressed as a Kitty, might a add she was ADORABLE!
And Kynly as a Ladybug...and she stayed snug as a bug in her Daddy's arms!

Of course the first house that we visited, the little boy was dressed as a ghost in a white sheet and Karly was a little frightened. She then thought that every house would have a ghost answer the door. When we returned home, Karly helped pass out candy...she would be in her room watching tv, the doorbell would ring, and she would run out screaming, "oh, oh, oh!" And before we could get the door open she would tell our visitors "trick-or-treat" not realizing that was THEIR job! Pretty cute though! She would tell them "Happy Halloween" too! Not sure if she had more fun going door to door or handing out the candy this year. We closed up shop at about 8 for bath and bed. I'm sure there are plenty late night trick-or-treating to come!

Family Fun

Karly LOVES her baby sis!

Daddy and his girls!

Our family of 4!

Nana and Poppa Bob stopped by this morning to take a few family fun pics since we didn't have any pictures of the 4 of us yet. We snuck in a few of just the girls too and they are priceless. We've all been sharing the "ick" this past week and most of us are on the downhill side, besides Daddy, so what better setting than us all in our jammies in bed! Thanks for the idea Aunt Sarah! We are taking the rest of the day, maybe even weekend, to recoop. Here's to happiness and health for all!! : )

Little bit of this...little bit of that

I am going to do a little catching up today and reflect back because there have been some pretty exciting things that have happened that I have slacked on blogging with some great pictures to add! The night before Kynly was to arrive, we gathered at Jay's house for dinner. There he took some great pregnancy photos. I can't believe a month has already gone by!
While I was pregnant with Kynly, I found out that Story Time Live was coming to KC! These are some of Karly's favorite shows from Nick Jr. that were coming going to be performing at the Midland Theatre. But there was one glitch... they were coming the Saturday after Kynly was due to arrive. So although Stephen and I were totally BUMMED that we couldn't take Karly ourselves, we arranged for my Mom and Uncle Jeff to take Karly as a special surprise! Uncle Jay, Aunt Tati, and Gabi as joined in for the fun! So beforehand Tati and I did some pre-planning for the girls to match outfit wise. Needless to say, they were the cutest girls there...and I'm NOT being bias!

At the show, the girls got to hug one of the characters from Yo Gabba Gabba, Brobee...my Mom says that Karly almost wouldn't let go and took time away from all the other kids getting to hug him. I was alright with it! Her face in these pic is priceless!

Sisterly LOVE

We are ALL finally settling in as a family of 4! Karly ADORES her new baby sister...I just have to be very careful about watching her with Kynly. When Kynly cries, Karly comes running; when Kynly is in her bouncer, Karly is always right there to talk to her. These are her new favorite sayings, "Hi Sissy!", "Hi Hunny!", "No fussin". It's too cute! I love to see the sisterly bond that they already have! We are complete with our "salt-n-pepper" girls as my doctor would refer to them!

Miss Kynly Lynn

Proud Daddy of 2 BEAUTIFUL girls!

Big sister Karly w/ new baby sister Kynly

Our family of 3 turned into a family of 4 on Thursday, September 16th at approximately 8:19 am. Stephen, Karly and I welcomed Kynly Lynn into the world and she is the sweetest baby ever! She weighed 8lbs. 15oz. and was 20.5 inches long. She now holds the weight record for the grandbabies as well as the hair record. She has the thickest, darkest hair that is so beautiful!Kynly and I are doing WONDERFUL! What a blessing she has been to our lives already. Big sister Karly is taking her time adjusting to the "new life" and giving us quite the run for our money at times. She absolutely ADORES her new little sister, but thinks she must test the boundaries to find out what is really going on. Thank goodness my Mom is here staying the week with us to help keep her busy. So far, Kynly is nursing awesome, sleeping great, and has had a wonderful check-ups at the doctors. They said that they usually want to see newborns back in 2 weeks, but because she is doing and looks so well, they don't need to see her until her 2 month wellness visit!! God is Great and we are loving our healthy babies!! More pictures to come...I will do my best to stay on top of things. No promises though, being a Mommy of 2 is sure to keep me busy!!
Much Love! XOXO

48 hours

This is how I hope Karly feels when she meets her little sister!!
Who would have thought that in less than 48 hours, our family of 3 would be turning into a family of 4! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by...as far as being physically prepared, I think we are! As far as being mentally prepared, that's what I continue to struggle with. Don't get me wrong, I am SUPER excited, but it's hard to imagine loving another child as much as we do Karly!! All of you Mother's of 2 or more probably remember feeling the same way and I keep reminding myself that it all works out. Our bags are packed and tonight will be the last night that our family of 3 sleeps together in our house. Karly is going to stay with my mom on Wednesday night so we don't have to get her up at 4:30am, drop her off at my mom's, and then head to the hospital by 6am. This way she can get a full nights sleep and be at the hospital in good spirits to meet her new baby sister Thursday morning!!
Wish us luck as we start our new adventure! : )
