Fun in the Sun!

Now that Daddy has his own truck, yea!, Karly and I are riding solo again until he gets home from work. So before I start supper, Karly and I go outside to play for a while, just to have a little fun in the sun! She LOVES sidewalk chalk! Together we write her name, trace our bodies, work on colors, and draw all sorts of silly pictures! So I am a teacher, but I never claimed to be an Artist! ; )
Here's some of our art work! Of course a MEOW!

Karly hard at work! Look at her perfect heart! ; )

And yesterday we played outside only for a few minutes because it was SO windy!! It practically knocked her down several times and just look at her hair blowing in the wind! Can't wait to have lots of more fun in the sun this summer!! Only 4 more weeks to go! : )

Calling all "Meow" shirts

So it is part of our morning routine now for Karly to help me pick out what she wears for the day. Of course, that is with a little help because she has to semi match Mommy if at all possible. I know I'm crazy! ; ) Her new thing is her Kitty Cat shirts, she LOVES them! When I open up her closet and ask her what she wants to wear today, she lets out the sweetest little "meow"! It's too cute!! So if you're ever out shopping and find one, please let me know! We have a small collection of 3 or 4 started but I'm thinking we might need more for this summer... Add the new fake smile and you've gotta LOVE her! She's getting so big so fast!! I need to get crazy with the camera again! I think Daddy's in trouble if he thinks that we won't ever have a Kitty cat around the house. It's only a matter of time, I have a feeling!!

Karly Day at the K!

Thanks to our good friends, Jeremy and Sam, we were invited to go to the Royals game this past Sunday. We had orginally thought that we better drive seperately just incase Karly couldn't make it the entire game, but after a great morning nap and talking with others that had been, we decided to just ride together and chance it. Luckily Karly had a BALL and was a trooper till about the bottom of the 6th. I was totally impressed with how "kid friendly" the new Royals Stadium is!! We spent the first few minutes just waling around, looking at all the new stuff to see, then we ended up in the play area. Karly got to go on her first carousel ride and she LOVED it! I got to ride with her as Daddy took some great pics. It wasn't so fun when the carousel came to a stop and we had to get off!! Next time we'll pay for 2 times at once! ; ) She was so sad!!
So we took her to get her certificate that has her name on it and shows her first time at the Royals game. I couldn't find Slugger to snap a pic with him so I had to try and get one of her and Daddy together!
I think we might have a little baseball fan on our hands!! She spent some time eating a chocolate malt cup, reading books and running up and down the aisle. The sun was a little too intense after about the 2nd inning so we moved up a few rows to the shade and luckily we had VERY nice people in front of us that didn't mind visiting with Karly, little Miss Social Butterfly! There was so many Red Sox fans there, it was hard to teach her only to clap for the Royals so we cheered on both teams! ; )

It was the bottom of the 6th and she was starting to get SUPER ornery, running around the consessions and not listening so I decided to return back to our seat for a little snack. She ate a few chips as I felt her body go limp. And here was the final product of the Royals game. Our little baseball fan had finally had enough!

Lovin the nice weather!

Since Karly was a December baby and didn't start walking until age of 1, which was again in December, and thanks to our wonderful KC Winter weather, we have been VERY limited on our time playing outside...that was until this week! Last Thursday it was in the mid-50's and time for us to get outside to explore the world! After work, Karly, the dogs, and I played in the front yard. We kicked the ball, chased the dogs, and I tried to teach her to stay out of the street. So the boundary setting starts!! Since our driveway leads to a dead-end street, I wasn't sure how to address that because technically that is a safe place to play, but then how do you justify that she can play in that street but not the others?? Isn't being a parent so much fun!! On Saturday, Daddy, Karly and I went to the local schools' playground and had a ball! Our Early Childhood center has a very toddler-friendly play area, but not so much parent-friendly. It was quite funny to see Stephen try to fit in it all. Then on Sunday we all met at my brothers house for a small family BBQ. Gabi and Karly are really starting to enjoy each other and interact! It is so fun to see them together!! Jay and I borrowed his next door neighbors play house and Karly LOVED this! In the mist of our playing outside, I was able to snap just a few shots to share. We are Lovin this nice weather and can't wait for a SUPER fun filled Summer!!
Karly is little Miss Independent - makes us a little nervous at times!

Morning Cheeeeze!

Karly woke up in a GREAT mood this morning. We all enjoyed powered donuts and milk for breakfast and then got ready for the day. I picked up the cutest little velour sweat suit for her at Wal-Mart when I went grocery shopping last night for $2.00!! No she doesn't really need any more clothes, but come on...$2.00!! Needless to say, SHE made the outfit even cuter than I thought it would be. And thanks to her wonderful Aunt Sarah, for the matching K onesie underneath. So after she got dressed this morning, I took a minute for a photo-op. She was more than willing to give me a morning cheeeeze!! Here is her posing just for the camera!! And you can even hear her saying "cheeeze!!" Enjoy! ; ) She's getting soo big!!

Ice cream!!

We've, or may I say Daddy, has added a new ritual into Karly's nightly routine. And while it is pretty stinkin cute, it's not the healthiest...and Mommy is NOT participating!! I'm just going to sit back and watch till Daddy wants to "try" and change it! So of an evening, after she gets done eating her supper, she walks to the pantry and starts saying, "ice cream ice cream!" So when you open the pantry door, she points DIRECTLY to the ice cream cone box and it is on from there! Daddy cuts the cone down just to the perfect "Karly size" and gives her a more than loving scoop of ice cream. The only thing left is the need for a bib and camera!! This is a VERY serious time for Karly and folks don't worry; she does NOT share!! : )

BIG girl car seat

Karly has finally hit the point where she can sit forward facing...she had to be 20 lbs. and at least the age of 1. She actually has been a little too long for her infant sit for a little while now, but I was waiting to find the PERFECT car seat, even if it was a little on the pricey side. So this morning, on the way to Miss Patty's, she got to sit in her new BIG girl car seat for the first time. Mommy and Daddy both have one in their car/truck so there will be no more transporting her in the infant seat. I have to say that she looked a little awkward at first...she wasn't really sure what she was doing in this weird seat. On the way to the sitters she was quite stiff and didn't move alot. I had to literally had to show her that she could still do everything she could before in her other seat like hold Sushi and take a drink from her sippy cup. She'll adjust soon, I'm sure of it!! Here's our BIG BIG girl in her new car seat!!
